Who to Vaccinate
- Everyone 6 months to 5 yrs old & 50+ yrs old
- Women who will be pregnant during the influenza season
- Anyone with chronic pulmonary,
cardiovascular, metabolic or renal disease (including asthma,
diabetes; not including
hypertension)
- Anyone with any of the following chronic issues:
- hemoglobinopathies
- immunodeficiency (HIV, chronic steroids, immunosuppressants)
- taking long-term aspirin therapy (if 6 months-18 yrs old)
- Anyone with a condition that can compromise respiratory function or
clearance of respiratory secretions
- cognitive
dysfunction
- spinal cord injuries
- seizure disorders
- other
neuromuscular disorders
- Nursing home residents and other chronic-care medical facilities
- Health-care workers
- Healthy household contacts and caregivers of children aged 0-59 months
and persons at high risk for severe complications from influenza
